Thinking Traps tend to pop you on the ‘Path of Procrastination’ vs the ‘Path of Purpose & Full Potential’. Before you know it, you have justified your way out of the very thing you are yearning to do!
They not only clutter your mind, they also divert your precious energy & focus. Here’s some of the most popular offenders …
- Perfectionism
- Shoulda woulda coulda
- Comparisonitis
- Intrusive thoughts from your Inner Critic
- Catastrophising
- Something’s missing
- Discounting yourself
- Watching reruns of your mind
A number of Thinking Traps can lead you down the path of Conflict. Things like … taking it personally, making assumptions, jumping to conclusions, second guessing, having false expectations, generalising, playing the blame game, stewing & brewing … the list goes on.
It is a big wakeup call when you realise how much time & effort you are channelling into these Thinking Traps.
The good news is … once you become AWARE & you own the fact you are doing these things … you can CHOOSE a different way of thinking & feeling. This allows to to take control of your mind + reclaim vital energy, focus & direction … yay.
